The project of two houses in the range of mountains in the city of Santiago proposed the design of two 140 m2 identical houses that could be extended in time and receive different types of users and usages. Therefore, the proposal was thought to create two independent cabins within a common land that would prioritise the views towards the mountains and the ravines. The prototypical house was designed as a large box overlooking the ravine and divided into three longitudinal areas, with the common areas in the centre, a double height room that visually connects with the landscape through a large window and helps to create the feeling of a wider home, distributing the enclosed and intimate rooms to the sides. Due to the terrain, the houses are conceived as bi-material cubes, with a first solid and concrete floor and a second light floor, built of wood.
This project has been published in different mediums, highlighting its appearance in the webpage Archdaily, in the XVI Buenos Aires International Biennial of Architecture 2017.
